THE RESPONSIBILITY APPROACH FOR ARENA

People, groups, companies and governments act sustainably in different ways the world over. The thinking can be broad and adapted to different goals; there is no one right solution or onesize fits all. So, the team at arena have invested time and resources to determine the best strategy to create a successful sustainability agenda for our brand and customers. We believe that the best approach is through the lens of Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR in short.

CSR is made up of three areas: Environment, Social and Governance.

CSR is the machine that will deliver our sustainability goals. It allows us to assess, implement and monitor tangible actions, and make everyone involved part of our journey towards a more sustainable future.

REDUCE OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT

RECYCLED FABRIC

arena is committed to designing and manufacturing all products in ways that are as environmentally conscious as possible, from swimsuits through to sports apparel and athleisure wear. Incorporating recycled fabrics into the range is an important part of our sustainability strategy.

These sustainable fabric sources include PET plastic bottles and industrial waste, including yarn waste and chip waste, all with Global Recycled Standard certification. By working with recycled PET and nylon, we are reducing the use of petroleum-based resources without sacrificing the benefits and characteristics of the fabrics.

Our more sustainable fabrics are put through their paces in lab testing to guarantee that the products offer the same performance, protection, style, comfort and fits that sets arena apart.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

We are continuing to introduce more and more sustainable packaging.

Sustainable sources are now used in wrapping more than half our range and we are switching all our paper packaging to certified recycling cardboard.

IMPROVE OUR SOCIAL FOOTPRINT

SUPPORTING NATIONAL FEDERATIONS

Since 1973, arena has prioritized strong connections with the most important swimming and watersports federations around the world, from grass roots to Olympic and Paralympic support.
National Federations play a critical and active role in the development of both amateur and elite watersports.

We share their goal to grow watersports, increasing inclusivity and diversity and using sport as a driver for social wellbeing.

We share their commitment to make the water accessible for people to relax, train and compete.

SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES

In 2020, arena joined the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the Italian Red Cross and donating arena’s THE ONE masks to the Policlinico Hospital in Milan.

BE TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE

TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

We care about the wellbeing and rights of the employees working to arena products and we are committed to being transparent about our partners and policies.

arena starts partnerships with suppliers who share our values and commit to our Code of Conduct, and we work hard to ensure that our global network of finished goods suppliers are always meeting, and exceeding, our rigorous standards and best practices.
Suppliers must agree to our CSR monitoring and guarantee compliance.

HOW WE SELECT NEW SUPPLIERS

THE KEY AREAS OF EVALUATION
Product Development
Product Planning
Production Process
Quality Control
Health, Safety & Environment
Product Safety & Certification
Social Responsibility
Since inception, arena has based its success on long-lasting strategic partnerships with a selected pool of suppliers, some of whom we have collaborated with for over twenty years.

We consider our suppliers more than simply manufacturers of our products: we involve them from the beginning of the development process, we share with them our ideas and we craft the products throughout the production cycle until they finally reach our consumers.
